Woodworking basics on 10/05/2018 @ 6:00pm

This popular half-day class introduces the novice woodworker to as many of the woodworking craft basics as we can cram into 3 hours – and it’s generally a very tight fit! It’s a great a great place to start your woodworking adventure.

We’ll look at the fundamentals like measuring, marking, cutting, shaping and fixing while you make a simple bracketed shelf (or sconce as it might have been called in Dickens’ time). All your technical questions – including the many mysteries of glues, screws and power tools – will be answered, and you’ll soon find yourself acquainted with a whole host of wood related kit and techniques. It’s a very hands-on class; there’ll also be a chance to (safely) use a machine or two to further broaden your knowledge and experience. All are welcome.
